Rory McIlroy posts photo of him flying to the U.S.

We've been speculating for days now: Will Rory McIlroy give it a go at the PGA Championship? Well, here's the latest sign he might just be headed to Whistling Straits.

Either Rory has a sick sense of humor or he's actually going to try to defend his PGA title. Only thing we know for sure is he's headed to the U.S. This follows a series of social-media posts that have teased us over the last week. To see his ankle in this shape, and then picture him playing next week is pretty remarkable.

Here's a look at his swing he posted yesterday. Looking pretty solid!

The current World No. 1 should have reason to be optimistic about his chances at Whistling Straits if he's feeling close to 100 percent. He finished third in 2010 as a 21-year-old. Jordan Spieth has a chance to overtake him as the top-ranked player in the world this week at the WGC-Bridgestone. But if Rory does tee it up at Whistling Straits, they could be battling for the top spot in the world. That's an exciting proposition.
