PGA Tour: Spieth stumbles, trails Hoffman by 6

April 01, 2016

Jordan Spieth’s bid to find his form in advance of the Masters was dealt a setback on Friday, when he shot a one-over par 73 at the Golf Club of Houston in the second round of the Shell Houston Open.

Spieth made four bogeys, two of them on par fives, in posting his seventh over-par score in his last 14 stroke-play rounds. He was tied for 22nd, at the conclusion of his round.

First-round leader Charley Hoffman, meanwhile, shot a two-under par 70 and retained his lead after the morning wave of players had finished.

Jamie Lovemark made a notable move up the leaderboard, posting a four-under par 68, and trails Hoffman by one.
