LPGA: Thompson leads by four after third round

Lexi Thompson shot an eight-under 64 in the third round of the Honda LPGA Thailand Tournament to take a four-shot lead. Thompson shot the same score in the first round of the tournament.

"It was a great day out there today," Thompson told reporters in Thailand. "The weather was perfect, so couldn't have asked for anything better. I just tried to focus on doing my routine and played like I did the first day which was aggressive and fire at pins and relax."

Thompson's round featured nine birdies, including one to close out her round. She hit 15 of 18 greens in regulation, and needed only 24 putts on the day.

In Gee Chun sits in sole possession of second place with a score of 12 under after shooting a six-under 66 at the Siam Country Club.

Amy Yang, the leader after round two by a stroke, shot 70 to fall five strokes back of Thompson and into third place.

World No. 2 Inbee Park sits back at even par and 16 shots off the lead. She is tied for 36th after a third-round 68. Thompson could move to No. 3 in the ranking, passing Stacy Lewis, with a win.
