Jimmy Walker announced as "Jimmy Fowler" on first tee, proceeds to tank

February 27, 2016

You could tell it wasn't going to be Jimmy Walker's day before he even hit a shot in the third round. Playing in Saturday's final pairing, Walker stepped onto the first tee at PGA National in great shape to contend for a sixth career PGA Tour title. And then, this happened:

Jimmy. . . Fowler? Huh?

To be fair to the first-tee announcer, Walker's playing partner was 36-hole leader Rickie Fowler, so we'll blame that for the slip. In any matter, he wound up playing more like Jimmy Fallon. Walker birdied the third hole, but then went 10 over on his next 12 holes to tumble all the way off the leader board. He needed to make birdie on 18 just to break 80 and finished the round T-32.
