Jason Day reinjures back during first round of The Barclays

August 27, 2015

Jason Day finally broke through with his win at Whistling Straits. Unfortunately, Day's victory lap could be short-lived.

Day, who had to withdraw from Wednesday's pro-am with a back issue, appeared to aggravate this injury early on Thursday at the Barclays:

The 27-year-old strained his back on Tuesday night lifting an item from the bottom of a motor coach. Day has battled a litany of hand and back problems throughout his career, and famously struggled with vertigo at this year's U.S. Open.

At the moment, Day is continuing with his round. We'll keep you updated on his status throughout Thursday.

UPDATE: Day finished his round, posting a two-under-par 68. Working in his favor, he has one of the later tee times (1:06 EDT) on Friday.
