Here's video of Tiger Woods testing a TaylorMade fairway wood

November 17, 2016

With Tiger Woods set to return to golf at next month's Hero World Challenge, the two biggest questions are how he will play and what he will play.

Well, this Snapchat video from tour player Will Wilcox at least hints at the possibility of Woods using something other than Nike when he returns to competition. It's Woods, on the range, getting some swings in with a TaylorMade fairway wood.

Of course, there is always the possibility that Woods was giving the club a brief test, and isn't planning on putting it in play. But with Nike announcing its exit from the equipment business this summer, it's likely he's going to make a switch of some kind fairly soon.

This is not the first time Woods has tinkered with TaylorMade equipment. He used a TaylorMade driver as an amateur, and even when he was all-in with Nike as a pro, he subbed in a TaylorMade R510 driver for the final round of the 2003 Deutsche Bank Open in Germany.

"That was just an experiment,'' Woods said at the time. ''I just wanted to mix it up a little bit. It's not like I haven't tried anything before at home; I've tried all the different brands. I just wanted to try one in competition."

Woods would not be the only high-profile player to transition from Nike to TaylorMade. Rory McIlroy and Brooks Koepka have both switched to the TaylorMade M2 this fall.
