Henrik Stenson announces he's leaving golf to pursue an acting career* (*Not really)

November 01, 2015

It wasn't Henrik Stenson's best week on the course, a T-47 that had him in the bottom half of those competing in the CIMB Classic. But the Swede was excited to finish first in something else. The European Tour conducted a poll of which of their players would make the best James Bond and Stenson was an overwhelming choice:

Stenson posted the poll's results and the accompanying message on his Facebook page:

"After my poor play in Cimb Classic I have decided to leave golf briefly to pursue a new career in acting, my earliest return to the game I love will be Tuesday morning next week at HSBC in Shanghai.......there is at least a 80/30 chance that I will be on the range!! The other 10% says putting green if anyone wondered! H"

Despite that vote of confidence from the fans, if you read between the lines, it seems like Stenson won't be quitting his day job anytime soon. Just a guess, but that's probably for the best.
