There's no official ranking for this sort of thing, but Paige Spiranac might be the best known professional golfer to have never cashed a check in official tournament earnings.

Spiranac has played in one pro tournament, the Ladies European Tour's Dubai Ladies Masters, where she shot 77-79 to miss the cut. It was a harsh reality for a player not far removed from playing college golf at San Diego State, particularly when considering Spiranac's rising celebrity on social media. Spiranac, 22, is the first to acknowledge her game is not where it needs to be to compete as a pro, something she elaborated on a first person story posted on GolfDigest.com on Tuesday.

On this week's Golf Digest Podcast, Spiranac discusses some of the backlash she received on social media last week, where she needs to improve her game, and why, as devastating as the Dubai experience was, it provided an invaluable lesson.
