Evian: In Gee Chun, Sung Hyun Park tied

In Gee Chun of Korea, the 2015 U.S. Women's Open winner, shot an eight-under par 63 and is tied for the lead with countryman Sung Hyun Park after the first round of the Evian Championship at Evian Resort Golf Club in Evian-les-Bains, France..

Shanshan Feng of China, the Olympic bronze medalist, is tied for third with Annie Park, both posing seven-under 64s.

Angela Stanford is in sole possession of fifth after shooting a six-under 65.

So Yeon Ryu and Eun-Hee Ji of Korea tread closely as well, tied for sixth at five under.

Gerina Piller, still looking for her first professional win, is tied for eighth at three under with Brittany Lincicome and 21-year-old Jin Young Ko.

Canadian Brooke Henderson shot a two-under 69, tied for 15th with Jessica Korda and Amy Yang.

Defending champion Lydia Ko, the Olympic silver medalist, shot a one-under 70. The New Zealander is tied for 27th with Stacy Lewis and Ha Na Jang, seven strokes back of the lead.

Anna Nordqvist of Sweden maintained an even-par 71, tied for 39th with Charley Hull and Cheyenne Woods.

Ariya Jutanugarn of Thailand, the winner of five tournaments including a major this year, struggled to a two-over 73. She is tied for 65th with Michelle Wie and Lexi Thompson, 10 shots back.
