Bubba Watson loses a tee shot despite everyone in New York looking for his ball

August 25, 2016

FARMINGDALE, N.Y. -- As far as lost balls go, this one was a head scratcher. Bubba Watson barely missed the 18th fairway at Bethpage Black with his tee shot in Thursday's opening round at the Barclays. The two-time Masters champ had a search party that included just about everyone in the state of New York, including playing partners Ryan Moore and Branden Grace. And still, he had no luck in finding it. Rough.

Seriously, look at his drive on PGA Tour Shot Tracker. It really wasn't that bad!

But after the allotted five minutes for him (and at least 20 other people) to search for his ball were up, Watson was forced to return to the 18th tee. He then hit his second tee shot (third shot overall) way right and his fourth even farther left (Shot Tracker's numbers are off in the above graphic). Thanks to an incredible flop shot for his fifth, Watson walked away with just a double bogey.

Still steaming moments later on the first tee, Watson took an incredibly aggressive line and took out his frustration on his drive:

361 in the fairway? Yeah, that one he found.
