Russ Evans (pictured above) of The Golf Exchange on ESPN Radio in Florida called last week. We discussed ideal buddies trips and the Ambush.

When I was passing on tips to plan a successful buddies trip it sounds like they edited my suggestion to "skimp on lodging." I'm guessing advertisers didn't appreciate that info. Sorry Russ. But of course you can. Part of the criteria of a great buddies trip is that you spend very little time in your room. We all know by now, the pure essentials of a buddies trip lodging are: roof, bed (not necessarily the one in the room you rented for the night), pillow ("those aren't pillows"), shower (warm water is appreciated, but not necessary), toilet (a door and toilet paper are mandatory) and a flat-screen TV. We turn that on only to fall asleep three minutes later, right before we forget to turn it off.
