Abu Dhabi: McIlroy and Fowler tied for lead midway through suspended third round

Five players are tied for the lead at 10-under after play was suspended during the third round of the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship, including Rory McIlroy and Rickie Fowler. The other three leaders are Branden Grace, Ian Poulter and Joost Luiten.

Fowler and McIlroy have seven and nine holes left to play, respectively, in the third round at Abu Dhabi Golf Course.

"Obviously there's still a long way to go, but I want to win every tournament I play," said McIlroy. "It's not about making statements or trying to lay down markers. It's just about trying to play the best that I can. I know if I do that, hopefully there's a lot of wins to come.

Reigning PGA Player of the Year Jordan Spieth finished his third round, shooting four under to move into a tie for 15th at seven under. Spieth rushed to his final tee to be able to complete his round ahead of the horn suspending play because of darkness.

Five players sit tied for sixth at just one shot back: Henrik Stenson, Thomas Pieters, Robert Rock, Rafa Cabrera-Bello and Andy Sullivan. They all still have at least nine holes to play as part of their third round, which will continue on Sunday.
