September 19, 2007

NEW YORK, NY— Golf World has announced its “College Players of the Week” for the period between September 10 and September 16. The feature will appear in the September 21 issue of Golf World and can be viewed online now.

This week’s honorees are senior Jesse Barnsley of Pepperdine and junior Lisa Maunu of Notre Dame. Barnsley notched a 12–under 204 at the William H. Tucker Invitational to win medalist honors by eight strokes. This was his first college victory and it helped the Waves claim the team title.

Maunu broke Notre Dame’s 18– and 54–hole individual records at the Cougar Classic by shooting a first–round 66 and a six–under 210. Like Barnsley, this was Maunu’s first college victory and her performance helped lead the Fighting Irish to the team title.

Golf World’s “College Players of the Week” section highlights a male and female golfer who have demonstrated outstanding individual play during a seven day period.
