NEW YORK, NY— Golf World has announced its “College Players of the Week” for the period between March 31 and April 6. The feature will appear in the April 11 issue of Golf World and can be viewed online now.
This week’s honorees are seniors Troy Merritt of Boise State and Dewi Claire Schreefel of Southern California. Merritt posted an eight–stroke victory at the OGIO Pacific Coast Intercollegiate for his second straight win and fourth of the season, tying a school record. His 14–under 199 was nearly 26 strokes better than the average score in the tournament.
Schreefel parred the first extra hole at the Ping/ASU Invitational to defeat defending champion Anna Nordqvist. Her seven–under 209 performance also helped the Trojans claim the team title.
Golf World’s “College Players of the Week” section highlights a male and a female who have demonstrated outstanding individual play during a seven day period.
