NEW YORK, NY— Golf World has announced its “College Players of the Week” for the period between March 24 and March 30. The feature will appear in the April 4 issue of Golf World and can be viewed online now.
This week’s honorees are freshmen Matt Hill of N.C. State and Jessica Yadloczky of Florida. Hill posted a nine–under 204 to win the Hootie at Bulls Bay Intercollegiate. It was the first individual win by a Wolfpack freshman since 1996. Hill’s performance also led N.C. State to an upset victory over Clemson and South Carolina.
Yadloczky finished tied for fifth at the Bryan Park National Collegiate with an eight–over 224, but her one–under 71 was the only sub–par score posted during Sunday’s final round. Her performance helped the fifth–ranked Gators pass No. 1 Duke and claim the team title with a 42–over 906. Yadloczky played her final six holes in three under.
Golf World’s “College Players of the Week” section highlights a male and a female who have demonstrated outstanding individual play during a seven day period.
