Golf World Announces Matthew Swan and Sarah Sturm of Alabama as “College Players of the Week”
NEW YORK, NY— Golf World has announced its “College Players of the Week” for the period between February 25 and March 2. The feature will appear in the February 22 issue of Golf World and can be viewed online now.
This week’s honorees are junior Matthew Swan and senior Sarah Sturm, both of Alabama. Swan became the third Crimson Tide player to earn an individual win this spring with a final–round 67 and 12–under 204 at the Puerto Rico Classic. His five–shot victory helped Alabama notch a three–stroke victory over Oklahoma State.
Sturm shot a final–round 71 at the Lady Puerto Rico Classic and helped the Crimson Tide claim the title by three strokes over LSU. Sturm finished T–10 with a four–over 220.
Golf World’s “College Players of the Week” section highlights a male and a female who have demonstrated outstanding individual play during a seven day period.
