Tom Bair

Vice President and Publisher, Golf Digest

Tom Bair is the Vice President and Publisher of Golf Digest. He started his tenure with the company in November 2001 as Associate Publisher.

Under Bair’s strategic guidance, Golf Digest’s overall revenue grew to $217 million in 2006. In addition, Golf Digest has aggressively embarked on brand extension campaigns including online, a new publication entitled Golf Digest Index, branded consumer products sold exclusively at Target® and 32 foreign editions. Golf Digest is the 6th largest publication in the world.

Prior to his current position, Bair served as Associate Publisher of Men’s Health magazine—overseeing the sales force, directing sales strategies and developing marketing platforms for their advertising partners.

Bair helped the launch of Men’s Health and held several key positions at the magazine starting in 1992. He was Northwest Sales Manager, New England Manager and Ad Director. Prior to Men’s Health, Bair was the Sports Group Ad Director at Fairchild Publications, overseeing the selling for three trade journals (1990-1992). From 1988-1990, Bair was Western Manager of Field & Stream magazine.

He earned his bachelor's degree from Pennsylvania State University.
