Susan Reed

Editor–In–Chief, Golf For Women

Susan Reed joined Golf For Women in February 2002 as Editor–In–Chief.

With Ms. Reed at the editorial helm, Golf For Women was selected to appear on Adweek?s “Hot List” in the “10 Under 50” category in March 2006. Golf For Women was also nominated for its first National Magazine Award from the American Society of Magazine Editors in 2003. Additionally, Golf For Women has received multiple awards from the Golf Writers Association of America (GWAA), including a first–place distinction in 2008.

Ms. Reed was previously a Senior Literary Agent at IMG Literary. She came to Golf For Women after 14 years in the magazine industry, most recently from 1996 to 2000 as the Features Editor of Condé Nast’s Women’s Sports & Fitness, where she was part of the original staff that prototyped and launched the magazine. From 1987 to 1996, she was a Senior Writer at People.

In October 2002, Ms. Reed was chosen as one of SportsBusiness Journal’s “Women to Watch,” a profile of eight women making their mark in the sports industry. She also won the Front Page Award for magazine feature writing and has published articles in The New York Times Book Review, Travel & Leisure, Mirabella, Condé Nast Traveler and Entertainment Weekly.

Ms. Reed’s expertise on women’s golf has been sought after by a wide range of media outlets from USA Today and The TODAY Show to The Wall Street Journal and ESPN. She was also a keynote speaker in 2004 at Golf 20/20, a major annual golf industry conference.

Ms. Reed earned a bachelor's degree from Vassar College.
