6. In the final round of the 1998 U.S. Open at Olympic, leader Payne Stewart split the fairway, only to find his ball in a sand-filled divot hole. "It was the first fairway I had hit in a while,'' Stewart said, "and sure enough, I was in a bunker.'' Stewart bogeyed the hole, and he lost the Open by a stroke to Lee Janzen.
