Matt Kuchar's nice-guy persona remains even as his on-course competitiveness seemingly intensifies. His win at the WGC-Accenture Match Play, as Azinger and Jaime Diaz note in this week's Zinger's Corner, is more impressive given the swing change he made--and quickly absorbed. Ariya Jutanugarn's 72nd-hole stumble at the Honda LPGA Thailand is also discussed, as is the matter of anchoring in the wake of Tim Finchem stating the PGA Tour believes the proposed ban is a mistake. A healthy argument ensues regarding the wisdom of the tour opposing the USGA/R&A, with Paul and Jaime in opposite camps.

Calling creative golf fans: Get published in our next issue

Are you a fan of Golf World's weekly "Front 9" magazine feature? We're offering you a chance to help write it for our next issue.

Inspired by The New Yorker's cartoon-caption writing contest, Golf World is featuring the "Front 9 Punchline Contest" in every issue. Here's how it works: Every Sunday around noon, Golf World's editors will post a Front 9 setup line to our magazine's Facebook page. We'll give you until 3 p.m. on Monday to enter your best punchline to that setup.

(An
example from a recent Front 9: Tiger Woods reveals that he has lobbied R&A chief Peter Dawson about banning the long putter.

The way he putted the last day at Pebble Beach, he might be having second thoughts.)

Golf World editors will then select the winning entry, which
will appear (along with the writer's name and hometown) in that week's
issue of Golf World. In addition to having their entry published in the magazine, winners will receive an official Golf World logo hat.

Hey, even if you don't have the best one, your creativity won't go unnoticed. We'll give you a shout out on our Editors' Blog: We've gotten too many quality responses to not acknowledge some of the best.

Our last winner was Kevin Vedder of Westfield, N.J., whose winning entry appeared in the March 5 issue of the magazine:

The set-up line: Phil Mickelson skips the WGC-Accenture Match Play and takes his family skiing instead.

The winning punchline: "Skiing on moguls is more fun than putting on them--at least those on the crazy greens at Dove Mountain."

-- Geoff Russell, Golf World Editor-In-Chief

Have you filled out your WGC bracket yet?

The NCAA's March Madness may be weeks away, but in the meantime, you can get your bracket fix courtesy of the PGA Tour.

Tournament brackets for the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship have been released by pgatour.com and just looking at the matchups and potential matches is exciting. How about the Day 1 pairings of Steve Stricker vs. 17-year-old Italian phenom Matteo Manassero and Padraig Harrington vs. Geoff Ogilvy? What about a potential second-round match of Phil Mickelson vs. Rickie Fowler or Dustin Johnson vs. Bubba Watson?

The 13th edition of the unpredictable event starts Wednesday at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club in Marana, Ariz. And as the only match-play event of the PGA Tour season, this tournament draws plenty of attention (at least until it produces a championship match of Kevin Sutherland and Mike McCarron like it did in 2002). It also features one of the strongest fields of the year with only the top 64 players in the world ranking as of Feb. 14 qualifying. And barring no withdrawals, it will mark the first time since the 2009 Doral event that all of the top 50 players will tee it up in the same event.

This year features other intriguing storylines as well. Can Tiger Woods, the only three-time winner of this event, regain that intimidating presence and make another deep run? Will defending champion Ian Poulter get back on track after a rough start to 2011? Or will he be too involved in a Twitter battle with first-round opponent Stewart Cink?

We'd love to hear your thoughts on how this week will play out. Before you start ripping up those brackets, of course.
