Drill: Putt Along a Chalk Line
Before each round, my caddie, Colin Cann, snaps a chalk line down on the practice green. (You can buy a chalk line at a hardware store.) I putt six-footers along that line?uphill and downhill. The chalk allows me to see if I'm keeping the putterface square to the line of the putt; it also trains me to stroke my putter straight toward the target, which keeps the face square longer for a more consistent, accurate roll.
