Tiger Woods is not a happy man

AUGUSTA, Ga. -- The most telling comments Tiger Woods made today were not the terse answers he offered to the media after signing for an even-par 72, but the words he had with himself on the driving range soon after.

What did Woods say? Well, let's just say they are not suitable for a family website such as this one (although the readers of tickedofftruckdriver.com might have better luck).

But first, a brief summary of the day: Woods began the second round five shots off the lead at two under, and by the time he reached the 18th hole, he stood in the middle of the fairway with a chance to get to four under. Instead, he dumped his approach shot in the right bunker, hit a deft bunker shot to about five feet, and then lipped out the par putt.

And that's where the cursing came in. After meeting with the media, Woods headed directly to the driving range, where he walked off to the side for a moment to give the loblolly pines his uncensored assessment of the day.

At that point Woods was the only player on the driving range, and proceeded to use the time to pound away on his driver. His coach Hank Haney was there with him, and on a few occasions, the two could be seen having what might best be described a heated exchange.

Heading into tomorrow, Woods is seven shots off the lead, a deficit he said he'd be able to make up over the final 36 holes. But if his post-round demeanor said anything, it's that he doesn't think it should be that big in the first place.
