Second guessing Pavin's Ryder Cup picks
Wednesday, September 8, 2010
At least one of you is leaning way "no" on Corey Pavin's captains picks for the U.S. Ryder Cup team.
Three of the four captain's picks have losing Ryder Cup records. Why not pick someone new? What's so special about Stewart Cink? This is his third captain's pick and he has a losing record.
Now I know why Paul Goydos is co-captain. To bring some levity to the team. Corey Pavin acts like this is a do-or-die situation. On an intensity scale of 1 to 10 (10 being the highest level), he is 1,000. Do you think Ladbrokes has a bet for the number of times he smiles or whether he even breaks out a smile during the event? Wow, Jim, say what you mean. You may be right on the records--Cink (4-7-4), Johnson (1-2-1) and Woods (10-13-2) do indeed have losing records; but you failed to mention Pavin's most interesting and admirable pick: Rickie Fowler. He's young, he's fun, he's fearless, and he's "someone new." Give the Captain credit for that one. Three cheers for the red, white and orange!
