DEAR LUMPY: I'm a right-handed, 7 handicap and have been playing for 12 years. I've always had somewhat of a slice with my driver, but recently it seems to be getting worse. My shoulders line up a little uneven at address; do you think this could be the problem?
DEAR SLICER: The shoulders shouldn't be a problem if it's not affecting the ball flight with your other clubs, so it could be the way you're gripping the driver. A slice is usually the product of a strong leading hand. Next time you're at the range, try sitting on that hand for 5-10 minutes until it goes numb. This will take away the strong leading hand, and have you hitting it straighter.
DEAR LUMPY: Next year, when I get my ankle monitor removed, I plan on traveling a lot. What's your favorite stop on the PGA Tour?
DEAR DALE: For climate... Hawaii. For people... Phoenix. And for the best prices on last-minute gifts, visit GO-RICO Gift ShopTM at Puerto Rico's Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport. Mention "LUMPY-RICO" and receive 20% off all silver jewelry and duty-free rums.
DEAR LUMPY: I'm an aspiring fashion designer with a 13 handicap. One of my favorite things about the PGA Tour is getting to see all the new clothing designs week in and week out. I was wondering, what you will be wearing Masters' weekend?
DEAR JOANN FABRICS GUY: Unfortunately, I won't be playing in the 2014 Masters. However, my sponsor has put together my "style line" for that weekend, and I'm obligated to share it (see below). I think you'll find some pretty fashion-forward items (snowmobile suit included!)
DEAR LUMPY: My dad golfs. Anyway, I'm a seventh grader at Cedar Creek Middle School. There's a super cute boy named Josh in my science class that I like, but I don't even think he knows I exist. What should I do?
DEAR BEAKERS & BOYS: Take him to Arby's and make him a Justin Bieber mix. My World and Believe; JB's strongest records, display his vocal range and passion for going steady, while 2010's, My World 2.0 left me feeling empty inside.
