J.D. Cuban has been a Golf Digest Staff Photographer since 2002 and has covered 16 consecutive U.S. Opens dating to 1994 at Oakmont. Before coming to Golf Digest, he worked with the USGA and as a staff photographer at Allsport/Getty Images. In addition to tournaments, J.D. shoots outstanding feature and instruction pictures for Golf Digest and Golf World magazines. The life of a sports photographer is not always easy. Travel, long hours and time away from home can take a toll, but J.D. handles it all with a positive attitude. He carries a 9-handicap and was taught the game by his father as a boy in Hawaii. The images that follow offer a glimpse into a day in the life of photographer at a major championship.
