- On the brink of perhaps the most unlikely win in history, Tom Watson saw a sixth British Open title snatched from his grasp by Stewart Cink. After rolling in a birdie on the final hole of regulation, the 36-year-old Cink prevailed over Watson in a four-hole playoff for his first major title.
