Two years removed from an emotional loss at Celtic Manor in Wales (Think: Hunter Mahan), the U.S. will try to reclaim the Ryder Cup from the rival Europeans. This time, the biennial competition will be contested on the Americans' home turf at Medinah CC and Davis Love III will be leading the charge. The captain (right) picked Jim Furyk, Dustin Johnson, Steve Stricker and Brandt Snedeker to round out the 12-man roster. Here's a closer look now at the squad looking to overcome a recent trend that has seen Europe go 8-4-1 in the last 13 matches.

After being a captain's pick for the last Ryder and Presidents Cups, Woods returned to a more familiar position atop the American team rankings. Although his poor weekend performances at majors in 2012 has drawn plenty of attention, his three wins during the season are still tied (with Rory McIlroy) for a PGA-Tour best.
