PGA Championship: Report Card

How the top 10 players on the World Ranking entering the PGA Championship fared

1. Tiger Woods, Won, 272 (-8)

Grade: A

What worked: Normally erratic off the tee, Woods only missed three fairways on the back nine all week.
What didn't: Woods made only 10 bogeys at Southern Hills, five coming in his last 10 holes Thursday.
2007 recap: One win and two seconds at the majors makes the tour's player-of-the-year race moot.

What didn't: Couldn't find his rhythm after suffering a back injury and made no birdies in the first round.

3. Phil Mickelson, T-32, 286 (+6)

What worked: One of three players without a bogey Sunday, but it came after he made seven Saturday.
What didn't: Although he shot 69 Friday, he hit only three fairways and missed too many makable putts.
2007 recap: The MCs were his first at majors since '99, and he didn't have a top-10 for the first time since '97.

4. Ernie Els, 3, 275 (-5)

What didn't: The putter abandoned him in key moments with misses on 9 and 11 Sunday.
2007 recap: He got progressively better and appears to be finally ready to challenge Woods once again.
