2008 LPGA Preview: Five To Watch

Among the 2008 LPGA rookie class are several likely to make headlines in the new season

February 2008

Momoko Ueda

This 21-year-old won five times in Japan in '07 and earned LPGA status by winning the Mizuno Classic as a nonmember. Despite the media attention devoted to Ai Miyazato, Ueda got to the LPGA winner's circle first.

Ashleigh Simon

South African won the Ladies' European Tour's Catalonia Ladies Masters 37 days after her 18th birthday in her fourth start as a pro. Win made her second-youngest LET winner ever.

Taylor Leon

The 2007 SEC Golfer of the Year at Georgia. Left school after her sophomore year when her 72.48 stroke average was the sixth-best in the nation.

Sandra Gal

Left the University of Florida midway through her senior year after finishing T-14 at LPGA Q school. First team 2007 All-American. Member of German national team since 2003.
