Video: Double amputee breaks 80 at the Old Course

Mike Reeder isn't unlike most of us -- he loves to play golf and his dream was to someday get on the Old Course.

Except, most of us didn't lose both of our legs in Vietnam.

The remarkable story of Reeder shooting 79 at St. Andrews from a wheelchair aired last night on ESPN's E:60 documentary series. The feature included clips of the double amputee driving the ball 240 yards (and, straight!) from his wheelchair, chipping and putting while standing upright, and even punching out from the fescue of the famed course in Scotland.

It's a truly amazing story of courage, but also a tremendous display of golf. Mike is a 9-handicap, picked up a golf club for the first time six years ago, and hit his first shot flush with a 5-wood.

The full feature can be viewed here.
