The Local Knowlege

Commissioner Ogilvie

Fresh from another trip to Q School, Joe Ogilvie has a seven-year plan that will take him to age 42. At that point his children will be 13, 11 and seven, allowing him to segue into a career in money management, or, if the PGA Tour ever decides to go that way, into the chair of retiring commissioner Tim Finchem.

Ogilvie would definitely rule tougher on conflicting events releases and make sure players "got it," he said, as it relates to a stronger commitment to promoting and supporting the tour. Of the 350 amateurs in the Bob Hope Classic field, he says he knew 150.
