Q School: Horschel, Fowler in, Duval, Micheel out

A quick PGA Tour Qualifying Tournament recap:

The two most prominent young players in the field were Rickie Fowler and Billy Horschel, both of whom earned their PGA Tour cards for 2010. Horschel finished seventh, Fowler tied for 15th. The top 25 players and ties earned PGA Tour cards for 2010.

The two most prominent veterans were David Duval and Shaun Micheel, each a major championship winner, neither of whom earned their cards for 2010. Duval finished tied for 90th and missed by 10 shots. Micheel tied for 64th and missed by six.

Among others to qualify were veterans Jeff Maggert (who tied for second), Neal Lancaster, J.P. Hayes, Joe Ogilvie and Chris Riley.

Tom Pernice, who at 50 was attempting to retain his PGA Tour playing privileges, double-bogeyed his 18th hole and missed by a single shot. Pernice, already a winner on the Champions Tour, has a full exemption there.
