The Local Knowlege

PGA champions a noble cause

Kudos to the 16 PGA of America professionals representing 13 PGA sections for their participation in the 34th Marine Corps Marathon that helped raise $80,000 for the Folds of Honor Foundation and other charitable endeavors in Washington, D.C. on Sunday.

Among the PGA pros participating was Major Dan Rooney, who served two tours in Iraq and founded the Folds of Honor Foundation. The foundation raises money for scholarships of spouses and children of service members disabled or killed.

Each of the pros was asked to raise a minimum $3,000 in donations.
