Those golfers who went to bat for golf's inclusion in the 2016 Olympics, and expressed a desire to participate in them, probably failed to consider the possibility that Chicago would not be the host city.
On Friday, Rio de Janeiro was awarded the 2016 Olympics, which apparently will be held in August, despite the fact that it is winter then (though still balmy). Assuming golf will be included, how many well-heeled tour pros will want to venture to the Southern Hemisphere in an already crowded two-month stretch that includes the PGA Championship and the FedEx Cup events, in a Ryder Cup year to boot?
Just asking.
