John Daly said via Twitter this morning that he is filming a commercial on behalf of Dr. Tiffany Jessee and the lap band surgery he underwent that enabled him to lose 90 pounds or more.
The cynic here recalls the SlimFast commercials that former Dodgers manager Tom Lasorda made. The weight he lost eventually returned.
"SlimFast commercials? I don't do those anymore," he said in his book, I Live for This!: Baseball's Last True Believer. "The diet had one problem -- you couldn't eat. What good is a diet if you can't eat?"
Like Lasorda, Daly has voracious appetites, and the lap band can be removed. Just saying.
