Curtis Strange will be back in action on the Champions Tour at next week's SAS Championship after five months off following hip surgery, but the two-time U.S. Open winner won't be a full-time player in 2010.
The former ABC analyst is returning to the television booth with a three-year deal to work on ESPN's golf broadcasts, which include the British Open and early-round coverage of the Masters and U.S. Open.
"I'll play 10 to 12 tournaments next year and do eight weeks for ESPN," said Strange. "It's a good opportunity."
Strange, 54, who had an operation to remove bone spurs from his right hip April 21, has struggled as a senior to regain the form that made him one of the game's best in the 1980s. He did a bit of TV work this year while recovering from surgery.
