"Where's Marty Hackel When You Need Him?" Geoff Shackelford asked in a headline to a blog post wondering whether President Obama had made a fashion faux pas in a recent round of golf by wearing white socks with dark slacks.
We found Hackel, Golf Digest's Mr. Style, and asked him to weigh in.
"Oh my," he wrote in an email reply. "The president has made a bit of a style error, easily corrected, by wearing socks that are approx the same color as his trousers...grey or even beige would work. A million years ago we wore white socks during sports but not now."
