So much for Monty's confidence

Here is what Colin Montgomerie said regarding his history with Turnberry in and what it bodes for his chances in the British Open:

"I relish competing on courses that give me happy memories. On the first tee next Thursday I will be at a slight advantage. I feel confident there and will go to Turnberry feeling good."

Here is what Montgomerie said following a final round of 73 at the Scottish Open on Sunday:

"It was a poor round again. Nothing to be positive about. I will go to Turnberry very late. Nothing else is working so why not try that. I'm ranked 200 in the world and 80-odd in the Race To Dubai so that says it all. I'm not expecting anything so neither should you."
