John Daly on Wednesday won a restraining order against his estranged wife Sherrie, the duration of which depends on whether Daly makes the cut at the St. Jude Classic this week.
No kidding.
"The restraining order, the Memphis Commercial Appeal writes, "expires at the end of play Friday if he does not make the cut -- the top half of the field that advances -- in the tournament that starts Thursday.
"'If he’s not in the hunt for the million-dollar purse,' said Circuit Court Judge Jerry Stokes, 'then he’s just a spectator like everyone else.'"
Sherrie, Daly's fourth wife, has a home at the TPC Southwind, according to Geoff Calkins' column on Sherrie in the same newspaper. The headline: "Drama, John Daly still practically inseparable."
Drama, it seems, is the only thing from which Daly is likely never to be divorced
