Oak Tree Golf Club owner Ed Evans is attempting to return Oak Tree to national prominence, and toward that end has re-christened the club, which is now Oak Tree National, the Oklahoman is reporting.
The site of the 1984 U.S. Amateur and the 1988 PGA Championship, Oak Tree, in Edmond, Okla., also has undergone a course renovation and employed Mark Hayes & Associates to do it. Hayes was an All-American golfer at Oklahoma State and a former winner of the Players Championship.
The course will re-open in July.
