Myerscough named Arizona women's assistant

After serving as a volunteer student assistant this fall after returning to Tucson to finish up her undergraduate degree, Laura Myerscough has been promoted to assistant for the Arizona women’s golf team. The 27-year-old former Wildcat All-American had been playing professional golf since finishing her eligibility in 2003, competing on the LPGA and Futures Tour.

“She’s experienced everything these girls are looking to, including coming back to get degree,” said Arizona first-year coach Shelly Haywood by phone.

Myerscough was the U.S. Women’s Amateur runner-up in 2000, played in two U.S. Women’s Opens and was a member of the victorious U.S. Curtis Cup team in 2002 along with twice playing for the American squad at the Women’s World Amateur Team Championship.
