Has anyone ever won seven tournaments and created as little buzz as Ochoa? The problem was that six of those wins—one was a major—came in Ochoa's first nine starts. What promised to be one of the greatest seasons in LPGA history was derailed when Ochoa's grandfather and uncle died within days of each other shortly after she won the Sybase Classic in May, her last victory until late September. Still, with more than 20 victories since 2006, Ochoa was the clear No. 1 in the Rolex Rankings, had clinched a spot in the Hall of Fame and became the unquestioned successor to Annika Sorenstam as the face of the LPGA.
