How Tiger does it

PREPARATION IS HUGE

Tiger has had a great run of six wins in a row on the PGA Tour, and one of the big keys to his great performance is his attention to detail in preparing to play a course. He studies every possible angle, so nothing catches him off guard in the tournament. Tiger considers where he wants and doesn't want to hit the ball, where he can miss safely, and the easiest place from which to get up and down. He looks at changing conditions, such as how the wind will affect shots, how tee and pin placements will dictate the club he'll use off the tees, and what side of the fairway will give him the best angle into each day's pin placement. On the greens, he looks at where he wants to putt from on each hole, and then he charts every green so he knows the breaks to each of the week's four pin placements. It's unbelievable how much thought and preparation Tiger puts into each tournament.
