The smaller head of a players iron lets you work the ball right or left, but it's not always necessary to have the club do the work. Instead of manipulating the clubface during the swing, curve the ball by making adjustments at address. For a draw, set up with your feet, hips and shoulders aligned right of your target but with the clubface still pointing at the target. Swing along your body lines, and the ball should start to the right but curve back. For a fade, set up with your feet, hips and shoulders aligned left of your target but with the club still facing the target. Again, swing along your body lines.
