Puma Golf introduces earphones

By John Strege

Professional golfers have been taking their music to work for awhile now, at least to the practice tee and putting green, so it was inevitable perhaps that a golf company would take note and react.

The company was Puma Golf, which has introduced two styles of earphones, the Pro-Performance (shown above) and the El Diego, and has done so in a typically colorful fashion. The Pro-Performance is available in black, pink and vibrant orange, the latter a ubiquitous color in the life of Puma and Cobra staff player Rickie Fowler. The El Diego is available in black, pink, vibrant orange and red.

Each is equipped with a microphone to allow answering phone calls, as well as volume, play and pause controls.

"We are always looking for innovation and unique ways to develop our business that push the industry forward," Bob Philion, president of Cobra Puma Golf said in a news release. The Puma Golf Audio Collection fulfills a major opportunity in the market, bringing advanced technology to the golf course in a very relevant and fun way."

Fowler and Cobra and Puma's other most prominent staff players Lexi Thompson and Ian Poulter have all been known to listen to music while practicing.

The Pro-Performance sells for $79.99, the El Diego for $59.99, and are available at golf retailers, Apple stores and Apple.com.
