Norman's latest venture is as a fitness pitchman

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Greg Norman, whois at the Show this week, became a spokesperson for Cybex Golf Fitness last month and is consequently changing how Cybex fitness machines look and function. Norman, who has been working out to improve his golf game since 1991, says golfers should focus on building the muscles in their legs and core muscles, and also activate their smaller, fast-twitch muscles.

Norman’s home gym has all 21 Cybex machines, and he separates them into two groups: one that builds the upper body, and another that builds the lower body. As an athlete who likes to break a sweat, Norman is a proponent of circuit training and often performs three sets of 12 reps on every machine. He also frequents the Arc Trainer, which is Cybex’s cross trainer machine, for 25 minutes at a time, and walks at five miles per hour on a treadmill that is set on an incline.

Whatever Norman does in the gym, he makes sure it syncs with his golf game.

“I used to work out with my eyes closed,” says Norman. “It’s really about understanding how your anatomy works, and activating the appropriate muscles."
