The nearly 1,200 women surveyed play an average of 10 rounds of golf per month. Here are their thoughts on equipment:

* 69% of women surveyed have never tried a 460cc driver.
* 60% of women surveyed have added a hybrid to their bag.
* 90% of women surveyed don't own a super-mallet putter.
* 39% of women surveyed play with irons that are more than five years old.
* 76% say that the promise of distance is very important in motivating them to buy equipment.
* 61% say that enjoying the game more is very important in motivating them to buy equipment.
* 59% of women have not been custom-fit for clubs.
* 6 out of 10 believe the golf ball they play can have a positive impact on their game.
* 1 out of 10 own a super-mallet putter; 22% are not sure what a super-mallet putter is.
* 3 in 5 strongly agree that manufacturers need to develop more women-specific golf products.
* 40% strongly agree that they prefer to play a ball made specifically for women.
* 44% think they were treated in a negative way in a store compared to a man.
* 66% spent what they expected when shopping for new clubs.
* 23% spent more than they expected.
* 1/3 would play more if they played better.
* 1 out of 9 strongly agree that equipment companies are doing an excellent job of speaking to the specific needs of women golfers in their advertising.
* 78% seek assistance when they shop for new equipment.
* 51% say the assistance is somewhat helpful.
* 17% feel golf pros at the course go out of their way to market the right equipment to women.
* 29% strongly agree there are frequent demo programs at the courses where they play.
* 36% say they purchased equipment as a result of the day.
* 69% strongly agree that testing clubs is the way to ensure they are buying the best clubs.
* Fewer than 10% have attended a demo day just for women.
* Only 1 in 3 have tried a 406cc driver; 1 in 5 have never heard of one.
* 25% play smaller than a 400cc driver.
* 42% play 400 cc or bigger.
* 33% don't know.
* 46% feel comfortable buying golf clubs by themselves.
* 29% agree that there is an abundance of new golf equipment designed specifically to enhance a woman's game.
* 59% feel strongly that equipment companies should design new products exclusively for them.
* 1 in 3 borrow equipment from friends before they buy.
* 56% strongly agree that new technology in golf clubs will improve their games.
* 57% strongly agree they read articles to learn more about new products.
* 31% say technology is a big factor in determining what club they buy.
* 1 out of 4 don't know what material their driver is made of.
