Kerr, Stanford fall short
"I was pretty confident," said Kerr, about her 12-foot downhill birdie putt on the 17th hole. (She missed it and settled for par.) "It was a pretty tricky read, though. I was a little bit jacked up."
Stanford, a four-time winner on the LPGA Tour who still hasn't won a major, seemingly cracked under the pressure of knowing she needed to birdie three of four holes.
"Knowing that you have to make three out of the last four," sadi Stanford, "I've done it before in the past, and fortunately they were four holes that I could have done it. Just a little bit of a misread on 17."
