Just days after announcing she might return to competitive golf, Lorena Ochoa won the Mission Hills Star Trophy Sunday by two shots over Colin Montgomerie (she had rounds of 71-71).The inaugural two-day, pro-celebrity event was held at the new five-star Mission Hills Resort Haikou on China's Hainan Island, and drew such high-profile celebrities as Catherine Zeta Jones, Hugh Grant, Matthew McConaughey and Michael Phelps.
While Ochoa says the victory won't bring her out of retirement, she did say, during practice rounds leading up to the event, that she'd like to play some tournaments on the LPGA Tour "just for fun." Banking a cool $1.28 million and topping a field that included Greg Norman and Annika Sorenstam probably reignited her recollection of what "fun" feels like.
