Oakmont's greens are brutal

OAKMONT, Pa. -- Try to wrap your mind around this statistic: Anna Nordqvist, who's 11-over-par 36-hole total won't make the cut, led the field in greens in regulation during the first two rounds. But with 73 putts through two rounds (that's more than 2 per hole!), she probably could have hit every single green without making the cut.

What's more, Nordqvist is a great putter. Cristie Kerr, when asked before the Championship began who the best putters are, immediately replied, "Anna Nordqvist is a great putter."

So while Nordqvist may simply have had an unusual stretch of poor putting, I think it's more accurate to say that Oakmont's greens are simply unlike anything these women play during the other events of the year.
